Get ready for the return of HOPE Calloway’s Box Dweller Fundraiser – an annual community event that’s become a staple for many. We’re looking forward to a few tweaks that aim to uphold tradition and enhance the impact on our community.
Here’s the lowdown:
Box Dwellers are committing to an 8-hour stay in their boxes to raise awareness about homelessness in our community. This year’s venue? The MSU Arboretum, providing a serene backdrop along the walking path.
From 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, we invite the community to our main event – “A Walk in Their Shoes.“ It’s an immersive experience, a stroll through the stories and struggles of those facing homelessness, told by actors but inspired by real-life stories from HOPE Calloway’s clients. After the walkthrough, you’ll have the chance to chat with our Box Dwellers.
Our goal is to foster understanding about the challenges our clients endure daily. Join us for a more subdued yet impactful experience, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the hurdles so many face. The stories are real and the atmosphere is one of community connection and empathy.
