When life falls apart, it can be hard to see how things will ever get better. For Amy, that moment came after a series of painful events that left her starting over completely. As a survivor of domestic violence, she suddenly found herself facing the possibility of homelessness. Everything felt uncertain. She was doing her best to stay strong, but she didn’t know where to turn next.

That’s when Amy found her village. With the help of HOPE Calloway, the S-CSEP program at West KY Allied, and access to mental health care, she began to rebuild her life. Our transitional housing program gave her a safe place to land and the support she needed to take her next steps. Each day brought a little more stability, a little more hope, and the belief that her future could be different.

During her time in the program, Amy worked closely with our team to set goals and focus on her healing. She started to regain her confidence and rediscover her strength. What once felt like starting over began to feel like building something new and lasting.

Today, Amy is a graduate of our transitional housing program. Through our after-care program, she still stays connected to resources, counseling, and community support. That ongoing connection gives her peace of mind and the encouragement she needs as she continues her journey forward.

What inspires us most about Amy is her heart for others. Even while walking through her own struggles, she volunteers her time to help people who are facing hard seasons. She shows what hope looks like in action—kind, steady, and full of grace.
